About Me
Hello, I am Ediz!
Welcome to my personal website!
I have just finished my MSc in Applied Computational Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. Currently, I am working on the manuscript of my thesis for publication. My thesis is about a proxy AI model that speeds up physics simulation.
In the Bachelor's Projects section, you can find summaries of the projects I was involved in during my bachelor's studies at Bogazici University and Technical University of Munich. The projects include a variety of topics such as signal processing, CFD analysis, control, simulation, and a racing competition.
In the Master's Projects section, you can find summaries of the class projects I have done during my master's at Imperial College London. This section is still under development, and once it is finished, it will include projects related to optimisation, inversion, image processing, parallel programming, and machine learning.
Brief personal background…
I grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, with my mom's encyclopedias and my father's science magazines. This motivated me to pursue my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Boğaziçi University. During that time, I discovered that my true passion lies in combining mathematics and software to solve scientific and engineering challenges. Thus, I continued with a computational science master's at Imperial College London.
In my spare time, I enjoy participating in a wide range of sports, such as tennis, bouldering, lindy hop, skiing, and kitesurfing. In 2015, I started practising kitesurfing and progressed to become an instructor over time. In the summer of 2020, I worked as a kitesurfing instructor in Izmir, Turkey, where I taught people from different parts of the globe. Moreover, I founded a surfing community at Bogazici University and a wakeboard society at Goodenough College, where I resided during my master's studies. 😄
